Captain’s Cottage
Captain's Cottage, in Deal, Kent is a delightful coastal holiday home, ideally located just a few minutes from the beautiful seafront, Deal Castle and the High Street. It is perfect for friends and families looking for a seaside getaway.This bright and airy property has three double bedrooms, two bathrooms, two reception rooms and a large kitchen/dining room. The interior design has a lovely nautical feel with crisp blue and white coastal decor, stripped floorboards and interesting coastal finds carefully arranged in this lovely home. The pretty enclosed garden has been thoughtfully planted with an array of white flowering plants and evergreens. There is a paved area with a fresh, white, casual table and chairs perfect to sit and have a morning coffee or perhaps a sundowner or a BBQ!Captain's Cottage would suit couples, families or a small group of friends. The second reception room/study, benefits from a sofa bed which is large enough for an adult or child. There are two bathrooms one located on the ground floor, the other on the first floor where you will find the three immaculately presented double bedrooms.Deal is full of things to do, with museums, art galleries and two castles. You can also hire bikes and cycle along the promenade, all the way into Sandwich in one direction or into Kingsdown in the other. Deal is full of independent shops, coffee shops, bars and restaurants.

Free two-hour on-street parking available on Gilford Road, with spaces directly outside the cottage. More parking can be found on the neighbouring streets, such as, Blenheim Road and Hope Road. You can also park along The Strand or Marine Road, which offer free parking 24/7.
The bedrooms are on the first floor. The stairs are wooden and typical of an older cottage, but there is a handrail on one side. There are wooden floors throughout the property.

- Please note check out is 10am. Please ensure you vacate on time to allow our housekeepers to enter the property and prepare it for the next guests.
- Smoking is not permitted in the property at any time.
- Please note for insurance purposes the number of guests must not exceed the total occupancy of the house.
- For fire safety reasons please do not use any candles in the property.
- Please be respectful to neighbours. Quiet hours are between 11pm and 9am.
- Parties and loud music are not permitted.

Yes, there is time restricted parking (2 hours) along Gilford Road, with available spaces directly outside Captains Cottage. If this road is full, or you need more time, you can park along Blenheim Road, Hope Road or further along on Marine Road or The Strand. The latter two offer free parking 24/7.
Yes, the walk into Deal High Street is less then 2 minutes from the property. When you leave the property, cross the road and take a left. The High Street then continues along this straight road for just under one mile.
Yes, the property allows up to 2 dogs to stay at the property, and garden is perfect for dogs too as it is completely enclosed.
There are two routes to be taken from the property. Either you can continue down the high street (taking a left at the end of Gilford Road) and walk along to Sandown Castle. Once you reach Sandown Castle, you can continue along the Cinque Port Golf Club all the way to Sandwich Bay. If you decided to take a right from the property you can walk along the seafront to Kingsdown. If you're a keen walker, you can then continue up the cliffs to St Margaret's and even further to Dover, where you come out by the castle.

Captain's Cottage is quietly set back in Deal, directly opposite the impressive Deal Castle, offering a wonderfully peaceful position with a strong sense of history all around. From here, the seafront is just moments away, making it easy to enjoy early morning walks along the beach or relaxed afternoons watching the world go by. Despite its calm setting, the cottage remains close to the heart of town, with the rhythm of seaside life never far away.

Timeball Tower Museum
A Victorian signalling tower on the seafront, where the timeball still drops on the hour. Four floors of maritime history and smuggling tales, plus views from the top.

Spread across a few knocked-together shopfronts on the High Street, The Pop Up Cafe serves homemade sourdough, cheese scones and seasonally changing soups – not to mention some of the best coffee in town!

Deal Pier
Kent’s last surviving leisure pier, opened by the Duke of Edinburgh in 1957. Walk its length for sea views, cast a line, or stop at Deal Pier Kitchen at the far end. On a clear day you can see France.
Cycle to Kingsdown
Take the flat coastal path from Deal to Kingsdown, ideal for walking or cycling. Pass Walmer Castle & Gardens, explore Kingsdown’s beautiful beaches and seafront, including The Zetland Arms. Hire bikes locally from Hut 55.

Deal has not one but three Tudor castles built by Henry VIII, namely Deal, Walmer and Sandown. The first two you can visit whilst Sandown (of which only a few stones remain) is on the cycle path that follows the coast.
